Many times, we appoint someone other than ourselves to be the leader of our life. We place the responsibility for our relationships, our mistakes, our drama– on someone else, or on something external. When we stop to think about it, we may realize that in fact it is ourselves who lack what we so acutely miss in others: the ability to self-direct. The decision to lead ourselves is often the hardest, and most valuable, decision we will ever make.
